I have been feeling baby move since about 14 weeks I think...somewhere around there anyway. But as of last week (17 weeks) the movements are consistent and unmistakable. I feel lots of movement when I sit down at the computer, or when I am trying to go to sleep at night. It tends to be way down low, just above my c-section scar. So much fun...just love feeling the little one wiggle around :) Still getting good heartrates on the doppler too....about 160 this morning :)

So, Reed is the name of a storm chaser that Travis and I really enjoy watching on TV. He is incredibly intelligent though a bit goofy. We both really like the name, and it is kind of fun to know that it has a little bit of significance being that we all love weather so much and it happens to be the name of one of our favorite meteorologists.

Nothing in stone yet, but these are the ones we are sort of considering at this point. Funny....my friend Samantha suggested Chase. Funny!!! He would be Chase Reed :) Travis and I both got a kick out of that, but what's even funnier is that we both kinda like it!! We have many months to think and decide, so who knows what the final name will be....only time will tell :)

Finally, a day without Zofran! Made it through the entire day and didn't have to take one until the next morning. Then was able to skip another day. Since then, it has been fairly consistent to only need one about every 1.5 days to every 2 days or so. Hopefully after another week or two I will be taking NONE :) One can only hope, right?

Tried doppler again today and couldn't seem to find the HB. Not to worry though, happens a lot at this gestation. NT scan tomorrow morning should put any worries to rest :) Now, let's just hope I sleep tonight!!!

Travis was out of town and the kids were driving me bonkers, so out of desperation to entertain them with something, I pulled out the doppler. Have never been able to pick up the HB with it so didn't really have high hopes it would work, but it did!!! Very quickly too :) Nice and fast. The kids loved it and miraculously hearing that little beating heart changed everyones attitude, including mommy's.

Yesterday is the day I took the Zofran. It's only supposed to be effective for 6-8 hours, but I am still feeling really well this morning which is way beyond the typical timeframe. Hmmmm....nausea going away? I hate to wish for it to return, but I am a tad bit worried something is wrong. Although, it is completely normal for symptoms to come and go....bet this is just one of the go's. If the baby were not fairing well, I think I would still have symptoms and not have a clue that it wasn't thriving. Have been reading that is the case with missed-miscarriages. In my case, because of the progesterone, even if the baby stopped growing my body wouldn't try to let the baby go. Anyway, going to keep my thoughts on the positive side and know that God has a plan for this little one, and his plan is way better than mine, so I will leave it in his hands :)

All this being said....

Nausea had me laying around most of the day. Just felt awful. We tried to watch Narnia with the kids in the evening so they will have some idea what the Narnia exhibit is at the church tonight, but I couldn't make it through the movie! Had to go to bed at 7:45!!! Poor Travis had to put the kids to bed. I slept so good, only got up 3 or 4 times to pee. Weather radio went off around 3AM with a tornado watch. Storms rolled in around 6. So, we were up a few times, but slept well when I was sleeping. The next day, I was still exhausted....took Natalie to school as a drop in and came home to sleep! Slept from 9:30 to 12:30. Moped around the house feeling awful until 2. Decided to take a shower and a Zofran so I could be a normal person the rest of the day. Within an hour it was working GREAT! I felt wonderful ... no sickness, no fatigue... the rest of the day. Mom took the kids to trick or treat at G-Ma Ovella's and Travis and I went to dinner.

Ahhhhhh, Zofran is my best friend in the whole world right now :)

So, apparently wet diapers/pull ups are my trigger for morning sickness. Got a whiff of Natalies diaper this morning and that sent me in a downward spiral. Less than half an hour later I had to just get it over with so I could feel better and move on! Not much bile, mostly saliva it seemed.

Still not too bad at this point. Nausea comes in waves through the day, but thus far have only thrown up once and that was last Saturday! One whiff of a dirty diaper, or one of Nathan's pull ups in the morning and I physically gag and MUST leave the room immediately to keep the gag from turning my stomach to the point of puking.

Apparently naps in the afternoon are going to be a must these days. I only feel a little tired, but if I lay down I konk out cold until the alarm goes off! So, guess I really am feeling the fatigue.

So, today I had my first ultrasound! Baby and sac measured 6w3d....from my LMP I should be 6w4d...so everything is right on schedule!

Heartbeat of 130 bpm....good number :)

As of today, the blog is up to date....had to backtrack, but as of this post, everything is at the right date :)

Brushing my teeth this morning proved to be too much for my pg tummy....I fought the urge to puke for about 3 minutes but finally gave up. I have to admit, it wasn't too bad really, and I actually found a little comfort in it as that is a good sign that everything is ok.

Natalie got me up at 7 this morning and by 8 I was really needing to go back to bed. So, dropped Natalie off with mom and dad (T and NG are in Medford this weekend) and went back home to eat some breakfast and head back to bed. I laid my head on the pillow around 8:45 and woke up at 12:15 in the exact same position I was in when I laid down.

So, the nausea continued until around 2pm, but after that it completely went away and I feel pretty much ok.

Wishing For Symptoms

Well, 6 weeks has officially arrived and still only very minor bouts of nausea. Not sure if it is pg related or the progesterone supps??? I know I should be careful what I wish for, but I would love some reassuring nausea right now!

Still no nausea and only a tiny bit tired with a tiny bit of breat tenderness. Freaking out thinking there must really not be a baby in there.

So, with the kids at mom's and T out of town, I decide to go to Wal-Mart to get another hpt. I never get the equate brand, but decided to get one because it was cheap.

Come home take the test....weird results that leave me with lots of worry so I go to Walgreens and get a 3 pack of the First Response so I can compare it to the one's I took the week before!

Again, weird results! The "test" line was REALLY dark, but the "control" line was barely there....strange. So, I take another with the same results. After checking online, found that others have had this same issue and the manufacturer told them it is because the hormone level was so high it pulled all of the dye in the test to the "test" line....GREAT NEWS! Ok, I can relax now...well, at least for tonight :)

So, Dr. Parker called me on Wednesday morning to tell me my hCG did indeed double and he was hopeful that everything was going ok but wanted to do an ultrasound on the 19th which puts me at 6w 5d. SOOOO impressed that the DR called....don't they always have the nurse call??? Wow, I like this guy. Not to mention, his office is literally a 2 minute drive from the house which will be great for all the bp checks I will have over the next 9 months :)

The morning after we found out

Well after being up all night, I decided I would work on getting a new dr. this morning, and if I can't get anyone to agree to testing and start the progesterone by noon, I will call my old dr. at Lakeside and at least get the process rolling as I can always switch once I get on board with someone else.

So, I stop by the office of Dr. Parker whom I have heard wonderful things about. It was about 9:30 AM and I told the receptionist of my dilemma. Ten minutes later she asked if I could come in to see Dr. Parker at 1:30 to talk about my situation. Wow! An actual face to face with the doctor on such short notice...that's impressive! He looks like a good option so far.

Mom and I met with him in his office and I was very impressed! He put me at ease right off the bat. He listened as I gave him my history in a nut shell and took me at my word on everything. He agreed we should run an hcg and progesterone test to check levels and that I should start a supplement immediately...not to wait for the results. Wow....this guy is great!

So started Prometrium 200 mg by mouth once per day.

hCG was around 150
progesterone was 20.5

Dr. Parker wanted me to continue the supps through 12 weeks even though my level was technically within normal limits, although 20 is the very lowest they want to see it. They want me to re-test hCG to make sure numbers are doubling. Had to wait until Wednesday to find out....ugh, the waiting!

Blogging Baby #3

Well, this pregnancy has come as a surprise to us, but we are thrilled and already planning for the arrival of this sweet baby.

I will start with the first inclination I had that something was "not quite right" with me. I missed church on Thursday...I have been doing the nursery for Women's bible study on Thrusday mornings for over a year now, how could I FORGET????!!!

The following week, I apologized profuesly to my partner in the nursery. Told her the last time I forgot major things was when I was pregnant! Uhhh....hmmmmm.....I think I should have started yesterday....hmmmm.....could it be???...oh surely not...that can't be....hmmmmm.

Later in the day I found myself on the soap isle at wal-mart and happend to see the pg tests on the next isle over. Oh Lord, they are calling my name! So, I picked one up thinking I was crazy for wasting money on something so silly.

The rest of the day went on and I didn't give the test another thought until I was in the shower getting ready for bed. I had just peed, so figured I wouldn't get an accurate result, but decided I would try one anyway....if it doen't work I can always wait and do another one in the morning. I managed to squeeze out about 3 drops but that was it! I watched the urine move slowly across the window and lo and behold, 2 lines appeared! Uh....oh goodness....

I snuggle up in bed with Travis and say, "Houston, we have a problem" He laughs and says, "what, are you pg???! as he laughs. "Um, yes" Travis "Are you SERIOUS?!!" We talked for a while and decided no matter what, we would pull through and everything would be ok.

So, of course I don't sleep a wink that night and the worrying sets in. Which doctor will I use? Do I really want to drive to Lakeside for EVERY little thing that comes up? Especially when Carol says I shouldn't use that hospital because of her issues?? Can I find someone in Norman on short notice? How are we going to pay for this considering I don't have maternity coverage on my insurance plan? I will have to get a new car to fit all of my kids in! Oh no....I had a miscarriage and almost lost Natalie at 16 dpo....oh dear, that's exactly where I should be in this cycle! I have to find a dr. first thing in the morning and convince them to take me as a patient, fill them in on my history and get them to agree to do bloodwork and start me on progesterone IMMEDIATELY! Oh dear....how is all of this going to work out??
